Travis Gray

Vice President - Senior Production Engineer

Travis joined Basin Engineering in June 2016 after working in key operations, reservoir and production engineering roles for Range Resources and Ascent Resources. 

His operations experience encompasses properties in the Permian, Mid-Continent, South Texas, Rocky Mountain and Appalachian Basins. In addition, Travis worked in the corporate planning/development and corporate technology teams for Range, and he provided production engineering support for Ascent's unconventional wells located in the Utica Point Pleasant area and numerous Marcellus Shale operations. 

Travis graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering in 2009 and is a published and awarded SPE author. Travis and his family reside in Edmond, Oklahoma.

Larry Davis

Drilling Manager

Larry joined Basin Engineering in 2018 after acquiring over 40 years oil industry experience with EOG Resources and Parker Drilling.   

While his most recent role at EOG Resources was Mid-Continent Division Superintendent, Larry has held superintendent positions since 1992, drilling in locations across the United States, Papua New Guinea and Nigeria.  

Larry has developed a solid industry reputation for solving drilling problems cost efficiently.   While at EOG Resources, Larry introduced the tactic of using nitrogen to get unstuck in the hole.   

Larry is passionate about developing relationships at every level, recognizing that drilling is very much a team effort.  From planning to execution, communication and relationships are critical ingredients to a successful project. 

Alan Pfortmiller

Vice President - Drilling, Completions, and Reservoir

Alan joined Basin Engineering in February of 2020 after working in senior reservoir and completions engineering roles at EOG Resources and Roan Resources. He started his career as a Field Engineer at Schlumberger.
 
His completion experience focused on stimulation optimization and using applied reservoir engineering practices to enhance completions and drive efficiencies. Alan was on the exploration team at EOG and was the reservoir engineer on the Woodford team. His reservoir engineering experience includes stimulation and reservoir modeling, project economic evaluations for development and divestiture, and type curve generation. 
 
Alan graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor in Science in Chemical Engineering in 2010 and the University of Oklahoma with an energy focused MBA in 2017. Alan is currently on the API board in Oklahoma City and chairs the Scholarship Committee.

Adam Saylor

Senior Drilling Engineer

Adam joined Basin Engineering in March of 2022 after working in drilling and production engineering roles at Devon Energy and Citation Oil and Gas. He started his career as a Field Drilling Engineer at Devon Energy.
 
His experience includes a diverse background of drilling wells in Western & Northern Oklahoma, North Texas, Powder River Basin, Wind River Basin, and Delaware Basin, and overseeing producing wells in Southern Oklahoma. 

Adam served as a member on both the Asset and Execution teams at Devon developing properties on BLM acreage in both Wyoming and New Mexico. He focused on long-term project engineering with impacts to torque and drag, casing design, project timing, and overall economics. 

During his time as a production engineer Adam supervised a diverse set of wells ranging from 12,000’ TVD gas wells to 2,000’ TVD nitrogen flood units. Adam has artificial lift experience in rod pumps, progressive cavity pumps, ESPs, plunger lift, and gas lift. While managing waterflood units, Adam oversaw projects to RTP and RTI wells shut in for multiple decades through workovers that included perforating new zones, cement squeezing swept zones, and increasing injectivity by acidizing and isolating zones with packers and injection mandrels.  
 
Adam graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering in 2012. Adam and his family reside in Edmond, Oklahoma.

Jeff Hubbard

Executive Sales

Jeff joined Basin Engineering in January 2021 after a 38 year career with Smith International and Schlumberger.  

His entire career involved working in various management and senior sales positions throughout multiple segments of North America Drilling, Completions and Operations.

Jeff is currently a board member for both the IADC and Oilfield Christian Fellowship organizations.  He graduated from Central Washington University in 1981 with a degree in Business Administration.  

Jeff and his wife live in Oklahoma City.

Daniel Orr

Environment, Health, and Safety Manager

Daniel joined Basin Engineering in May 2023, bringing a wealth of experience in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) within the oil and natural gas sector. His expertise is focused on enhancing worker health and safety in this industry.

Daniel has held key safety roles in various energy firms and is the founder and former President of Titan Safety Consulting Services, where he significantly improved safety standards for contractors and operators alike. His commitment to safety extends to his role as President of the Mid-Continent Exploration & Production Safety Network.

A proud veteran, Daniel served in the United States Marine Corps, as well as the Utah National Guard. He continues his service as a Commissioner for the Oklahoma Veterans Commission.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Health and Safety from Columbia Southern University. J

Maya Kelley

Production Engineer

Maya joined Basin in 2021 after working as a reservoir engineer with PetroQuest Energy and Denbury Resources. She started her career as a mechanical engineer with D&L Oil Tools.

She has gained experience working in Oklahoma and Wyoming, providing economic assessments and forecasts for developing fields and production support for legacy fields.

She graduated from The University of Tulsa with a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering. Originally from Dallas, TX, Maya now lives in Oklahoma City.

Eric Clanton

Corporate Controller

Eric joined Basin Engineering in 2024 after working in accounting and finance roles for multiple operating and exploration companies. 

Eric's experience in the Oil and Gas industry encompasses budgeting and forecasting, payroll administration, and operations accounting. 

Eric graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Accounting in 2004 and completed his CPA certification.

Ross Teichman

Production Engineer

Ross joined Basin Engineering in 2024 after working in production engineering and planning roles for XTO, Titus Oil & Gas, and Earthstone Energy within the Delaware Basin. 
 
With experience across private equity, mid-cap, and Fortune 500 companies, his production experience focuses on artificial lift design and optimization, financial modeling, LOE & Capex analysis, and data visualization using Power BI and Spotfire.
 
Ross graduated from LSU with a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering in 2018.

Rachel Hawkins

Land / Engineering Technician

Rachel joined Basin Engineering in April 2021 after working in analyst roles at both Roan Resources and Linn Energy. 

 She has experience working assets in Oklahoma, Texas and Louisiana. She is focused on providing technical support to the team at all levels.
 
Rachel graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Oklahoma State University.

Tiffany Crawford

Accounting / Administration

Tiffany joined Basin Engineering in 2014 after working as an office administrator in her previous role.  Her experience includes accounting and administration.
