Since 2011, Annual Fundraiser Supports American Heart Association

In 2023, Basin Engineering proudly organized the 12th annual Shoot for the Heart sporting clays tournament. The oil and gas industry came together once again, with total participation contributing over $96,000 to the American Heart Association, elevating the 12-year cumulative donation to over $609,000. Basin Engineering thanks all of the sponsors and participants who contributed to the success of this year's event.

During the accompanying luncheon, Mark Fried, the Executive Director for the Oklahoma chapter of the American Heart Association, welcomed a local health researcher. This expert highlighted the multiple advancements in cardiovascular care made possible through AHA funding.

This yearly gathering provides a wonderful opportunity for professionals in the oil & gas industry to mingle, forge connections, enjoy themselves, and support a significant cause.

Anticipation is already building for the 2024 event, scheduled for Friday, September 6th, at the Quail Ridge Sporting Clays center in McCloud, OK.

The Bigger Meaning Behind SFTHTitle

There is no question SFTH is a lot of fun and a great way to stay connected with industry colleagues.  There is also a very personal reason for the event.  And to understand that, you just need to ask Larry Davis, Drilling Manager with Basin Engineering.

Larry will tell you how his granddaughter Lily was born with a congenital heart defect that threatened her life.  The research from the American Heart Association provided surgeons with the knowledge they needed to successfully treat Lily.

"We want to support the work of the American Heart Association because heart disease and strokes continue to pose life threatening risks to so many and this is one way we can give back" said Larry Davis.

Craig Northcutt, Basin Engineering President, added "Heart disease and strokes are among the leading causes of death in the U.S. and we appreciate all that the AHA is doing to improve outcomes.  We are also thankful for all the support from our industry colleagues".
